I attended the Lifeworks Series: How to End Your Homework Hassles workshop by Working Mom magazine and Lifestyle Network this morning. It was held at the Richmonde Hotel from 9am to 12nn. I was finally able to meet and talk to Working Mom Editor-in-Chief Ms. Dedet Panabi. She's so nice and friendly -- we even discovered that we took the same course in Ateneo, and that she's just about two batches ahead of me. :D

I'm really glad I attended this workshop. Dr. Queena Lee-Chua is a brilliant and entertaining speaker, and as cliched as it sounds I really learned a lot from her. I get so worked up whenever I'm tutoring my 7-year old son but I was able to pick up a lot of practical tips on how to build good study habits. There was even a short Q&A portion afterwards so I was able to ask about some things in detail. I feel really fortunate to have had the chance to attend since Dr. Queena Lee-Chua only accepts 1 out of 25 speaking engagements, so it's not an everyday thing. I read her column on The Philippine Daily Inquirer and Working Mom, and she did teach at the Ateneo when I was a student there so I'm definitely a fan.

Aside from the talk, there were product presentations from Roseart, Purefoods, and Solmux. There were also some raffle prizes but of course given my rotten luck with raffles I wasn't really expecting anything. We had a buffet lunch after all the activities and were given loot bags containing a few product samples and a copy of Art Play mini-magazine. I also met fellow GT mom Suzy and cute little Gwen.

Thanks to Lifestyle Network and Working Mom Magazine for this great opportunity! :D

A scan of our little boy's Grade 1 report card. We're just so proud of him, even if he didn't formally get 2nd honors (an average of 93-95 is required, and no grade lower than 88 unfortunately his Chinese is lower than 88...). He did get a Diligence Award though...
