I won my first Ipod back in January 2006. It was a shiny blue Ipod Mini, I won it from a Chronicles of Narnia trivia contest. I had absolutely no interest in Ipods back then, I was actually aiming for the grand prize which was a trip to Hong Kong for four to watch the Narnia premiere in Disneyland. Anyways, my younger brother was obssessed with Ipods, but being a high school student he had no means to buy it himself. I contemplated selling it for a few thousand pesos but got to thinking would a few thousand pesos in my pocket make me all that much happier? Hence I decided to give the Ipod Mini to my brother, whose joy was beyond words upon receiving it.

Fast forward to the middle of 2007. I joined a BTV NBA playoffs trivia contest, wherein I spent countless nights waiting for the live game which would at times air at 3am. The trivia question would flash during the game, so I really had to watch. Now anyone who knows me would know how much I dislike watching basketball... so it was really quite a task. In the end, I won a silver 2nd generation Ipod Nano among other prizes, which my mom told me she wanted. I gave the Ipod Nano to my mom, who's still happily using it right now.

Some two or three months after, I joined a Skycable-Cartoon Network text contest wherein the grand prize was a snazzy black Ipod Classic 80GB. I won. My hubby was immediately enamored with it since he likes downloading videos of all sorts from the internet, and this was the model with the biggest GB count. Again, I gave the Ipod to him.

Last March 2008, I won my 4th Ipod from the Pepsibilities writing contest. It was a lovely black Ipod Touch 8GB. Although I have little interest in music and videos (I hate wearing those ear plug things), this particular model had wifi. I opened the box, tried the wifi and internet capabilities, and was immediately hooked. Everyone in my family who had ever wanted an Ipod already got one, so this particular one was left for me. Computer geek and internet junkie that I am, it was perfect! Finally, God gave me one for me. :D

Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Blog EntryLoving the Ipod Touch...Apr 17, '08 11:41 PM
for everyone

I've never really liked Ipods because I hate wearing those ear things and I'm not one of those people who can't live without their music.

I finally opened the box which contained the Ipod Touch I won from the Pepsibilities writing contest yesterday and plugged it in my PC. I loaded all the songs my kids wanted to listen to -- songs from High School Musical, Hannah Montana, Enchanted, etc., our TV commercial, songs I liked... it was kind of fun, I guess. But the best part is the wifi capability of the Ipod Touch. It's like having my very own pocket Macintosh, I can use the Safari browser to surf any site in a flash! A virtual touch-keyboard also appears at the bottom so I can type anything I want. I can also set it up so that it checks my email automatically. It can do everything my Palm Pilot can do plus more... I love it! I only wish I got a model with more GBs, heh.

I received the registered mail from Pepsi today, it seems I won the grand prize in the Pepsibilities writing contest I posted about earlier. I'm going to get a Sony Ericsson w300i walkman phone and an Ipod Touch!!!

I was jumping and screaming after I opened the envelope, hehe.

Blog EntryAn Ipod Video 80GB...!Nov 23, '07 9:38 PM
for everyone

I'm beginning to believe I'm being chased by Ipods due to my indifference to them. Up until now I still do not get what the fuss is over these things. I hate wearing earphones of any kind and I would rather be reading or playing video games than idling away listening to whatever during my free time.

Anyways we won our third Ipod in 2 years from a text raffle. The first Ipod was an Ipod Mini from a Chronicles of Narnia promo which was open to the whole of Southeast Asia -- which I joined out of boredom (it was Christmas vacation and I had nothing to do and the grand prize was a trip to HK!). The second Ipod was an Ipod Nano 2nd gen from a Basketball TV trivia raffle, and now this Ipod Video 80GB from a Cartoon Network text raffle...

I still have NEVER used an Ipod. But my husband and son couldn't be happier... I'd like to win a Nintendo DS for a change. Heh heh.

Blog EntryGod's a funny guy...Jul 9, '07 10:24 PM
for everyone

Back in December 2005, I joined a Chronicles of Narnia promo (take note I have not yet seen that movie to this day) which spanned all of Southeast Asia. The grand prize was a trip for two to HK Disneyland to watch the Narnia premiere, while the consolation prizes were several Ipod Mini's. Anyways since it was such a big raffle, I really did not expect to get anything out of it. Surprise surprise, towards the end of January 2006, I got a call that informed me I won an Ipod Mini from that promo (I was one of two Philippine winners). I hate wearing earphones of any kind and so Ipods hold little to no appeal for me. And so I gave it to my younger brother who was just dying to have an Ipod back then.

Fast-forward to June 2007. Our son Kenshin is now in gradeschool, and what is it with kids these days? He told me that his 7-year old cousin (in the same grade) wanted an Ipod. Ken's a real music lover and so he asked me if he could also have one. I told him I actually won one the previous year but gave it to his uncle. He asked "why?", and I said well at that time his uncle was the one who would have been made most happy by it. I off-handedly told him that who knows maybe we'll win another one next time.

Well guess what, I got a call yesterday which informed me that I won an Ipod Nano from a BTV raffle. Now we won't have to spend if we ever do decide to get our kid an Ipod sometime. And I just thought that God's a funny guy (in a positive sense)... it's true, the more you give the more you receive. Ken's already bugging me when we're going to claim it...
